J. Michael Mackay
A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Mike has practiced law in North Carolina since 1993. Mike joined Walker Lambe in 2021 and concentrates his practice in the areas of estate and trust administration as well as estate planning. He brings a considerable amount of varied legal experience to Walker Lambe which includes representation of individuals and corporations, as well as managerial and administrative experience. Prior to joining Walker Lambe, Mike worked most recently as the Director of Claims Administration at the North Carolina Industrial Commission before returning to private practice. Mike’s additional legal experience has included serving as the managing partner of the workers’ compensation department at a Durham law firm and, prior to that time, as a litigation attorney at two large law firms in Raleigh. Mike is a certified mediator and has been previously recognized as a board-certified specialist by the North Carolina State Bar in the field of workers’ compensation. Mike majored in Journalism and Political Science as an undergraduate at UNC-Chapel Hill. After working as a newspaper reporter, Mike attended and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law. Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, cheering for his daughter’s soccer teams and UNC sports, and participating in community endeavors, including being a board member of the Jiti Foundation.
